"Melody in Red"

This composition of the Oriental Poppy reminded me of notes on a sheet of music.  The range of reds from deep crimson in the shadows to yellow-orange in the bright sun light add to the drama.  In June, this particular variation of the poppy can be found in full bloom on a hillside not far from my Colorado studio."
